SoftPark 21 with its group company
http://www.goodmorningresearch.com has developed an automated XBRL/iXBRL tagging and conversion application - ResearchPoint. This uses semantic RDF technology which is unique and much talked about industry standard technology.
Ashu Bhatnagar - Founder CEO of Goodmorningresearch.com will be presenting a paper on
Semantic XBRL Data Search Using SPARQL at the forthcoming 2010 Semantic Technology Conference at San Francisco (June 21-24).
Much current financial regulators attention is focused on benefits of XBRL and development of
standardized taxonomies for creating XBRL documents. This presentation
focuses on the use of XBRL data, starting with Search capability. We
show why text-based search engines like Google are insufficient
for XBRL documents and Semantic Web technologies of SPARQL and RDF meet
the objectives.
Highlights include:
- XBRL files are a collection of semantically inter-related XML documents that are not easily searchable
- RDF-based linked-data supports SPARQL as the standard, distributed search technology
- Extracting XBRL data in RDF format SPARQL endpoints enables fast and
cost-effective searches
Ashu Bhatnagar is CEO of Good Morning Research, a Softpark company
that specializes in building Semantic XBRL technology. The
GoodMorningResearch.com machine automates XBRL tagging of Excel data in
RDF format with one-click Save As XBRL functionality. Mr. Bhatnagar
moderates the Semantic XBRL group on LinkedIn.
Will be happy to receive comments.
